Who am I?
I am Basil Gabriel Hammer, 26 years old, Swiss, and have been working since December 2025 as Researcher & Web Designer at PUNT.URS. My central and passionate analytical focus is on China, Korea (AI sector), and Taiwan, as well as East Asia in general. With two Master’s degrees in International Relations, a six-month position at the Swiss Consulate General in Hong Kong, and several comprehensive analyses, I offer a strong combination of academic depth, practical on-the-ground experience, strategic foresight, and the user-friendly application of AI tools while upholding ethical standards.
I am convinced that China and Asia are the future markets par excellence — especially in the fields of electromobility, artificial intelligence, and alternative technologies. This is precisely where my particular expertise lies.

My Bachelor’s thesis at Leiden University intensively examined how China’s state capitalism has enabled the country’s global leadership in electric vehicle and battery production. In my Master’s thesis at the Geneva School of Diplomacy, I analysed the challenges of US-China economic decoupling, with a particular focus on supply chains, infrastructure, and technological dependencies. I combine this academic foundation with current developments from the Greater Bay Area and provide our clients with well-founded assessments of China’s technology, AI, and mobility strategies.
Detailed analyses of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and its financial connections
I prepare client-specific reports on the GBA Connects initiatives — from Stock Connect and Bond Connect to ETF Connect, Wealth Management Connect, and the new Fintech Connect. In doing so, I show how these programmes are further advancing financial integration between Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangdong Province in China, and what new regulatory steps result from them.

I analyse Hong Kong’s current development as an international financial centre, the significant rise in Chinese IPOs, the strong growth of the asset management and family office sector, as well as Hong Kong’s role as a bridge to ASEAN, green finance, fintech, and innovative technologies.

I process complex economic and regulatory developments in China and Asia in such a way that our clients can directly derive which opportunities arise in the tech and electromobility sector, in financial integration, or in alternative technologies.
