As part of the international Dada revival exhibition and performance dADAda – The New Age of Absurdity (24 January to 14 February 2026, El Convento, Gaucín, Spain), the family (represented by Zeno Hammer) was actively involved.
Dada — which emerged in Zurich in 1916 as an anti-war, anti-logical movement of absurdity — was updated here for the 21st century: as a revolt against algorithmic control, digital overload, authoritarian logic, memes, AI-generated content, and unwanted advertising.
Zeno Hammer’s central contribution:
- Participation in “The Nine Commandments” (Die Neun Gebote / Los 9 Mandamientos), a multidisciplinary piece by Swiss artist Raffaela Zenoni.
- Leading role: reading and interpreting the Nine Commandments in several languages (including German, Spanish, English, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Basque, Romansh, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Finnish, Czech, Irish, Low German, Latin, Croatian, Hungarian, and Danish).
- Artistic integration: the commandments (e.g. “Talk to one another in soap bubbles,” “Turn everything upside down,” “See through walls with the penguin”) were recited and interpreted by Zeno in multiple languages, combined with dance/movement by the young performer Maria Morales (using nine painted panels).
This was not merely a side project: it reflects the firm’s own stance — a rejection of rigid “logic as finished truth,” and an appreciation of irrationality, creativity, and intercultural dialogue.
